All BMX’s bikes are not created equally…
So after many conversations with friends and family on BMX racing, we though what the heck, let’s have our son, Sam, try it out.
Why bother researching… so out we went to purchase a BMX bike, since Sam needed a new bike for the summer we thought (logically), buy a BMX this way he can race and ride at home…RIGHT??? Canadian Tire here we come… so we bought the the tricked out REDLINE, it had front and rear brakes, pegs…it looked FANTASTIC!!
After a few weeks, the St Albert BMX Club had a Try it day, so off we went packed up his new BMX bike and helmet, thinking we are all set for this next crazy adventure, right?? OH MAN, were we wrong…we didn’t research to know that we needed a BMX race bike…not just a BMX bike. WHAT the heck, we thought (after just investing in a new bike), to find out that we need the light weight, skinny fast race bike…
You ask what did we do, we kept the NEW BMX this was Same daily riding bike, and we borrowed a track bike for the start of our BMX Season. We did not purchase right away, as we wanted to make sure that this sport was something that Sam wanted to do, more than just one season.
