ALBERTA BMX DAYS!
Sunday May 28, 2023 - Come and check out what all the hype is about!
Don’t have a bike - no worries!
Never ridden on a BMX TRACK - nor had we (and this is how we got hooked!)
Local tracks will have a limited amount of bikes & helmets for you to get out there on the track, the event is FCFS - so please be patient with the VOLUNTEER track representatives.
Have questions about the sport of BMX, this is a great opportunity to get some questions answered and go for a spin!
The event is an all ages - for riders under 4 they can take spin on the half track on a strider bike, and those 4 and over can take the opportunity to get on a race BMX bike, and ride the track!
This is a great way of coming out and trying the sport, before having to invest in a membership, bike and safety gear.
A few questions answered by our friends at Alberta Bicycle Association:
Do I need to have an Alberta Bicycle Association membership to participate? No. If this is your first time riding on the BMX track, you may take advantage of a one-time-trial at your local track. All subsequent visits to the track will require you to purchase an Alberta Bicycle Association membership.
I don't have a BMX bike or any equipment, can I still attend the festivities at my local track? Absolutely! Whether you want to ride the track or simply spectate, we encourage everyone to attend. Each track will have a limited supply of loaner bikes & safety equipment for those who are new to the sport. Make sure to contact your local track ahead of time if you plan to make use of loaner equipment. Anyone planning to ride the track must wear long pants - no shorts allowed!
I want to try my local track but can't make it on May 31st, can I still try it? Yes. Most tracks regularly host "Open Track Nights" on weeknights or weekends. For information on local track nights near you, visit your local track's website.
NOTE: for riders under 18 you will require an Adult or guardian to sign your waiver.
